How to manage your remote workers

How to manage your remote workers

At this time, we assume that if you have a company, you already let your employees work from home. For those of you who are not familiar with working or managing remotely, things can be hard. As a company that have embraced this working style since the beginning, Marketin247 would love to share some tips for you to take control of your business.

1. Hold a remote working training session

With most of the businesses affected by COVID-19 are not working remotely, the employees might not be as productive when working from home. It is the manager’s job to help them get through this transition by providing information and tips on how to work effectively while being at home.

2. Have meetings regularly

Communication is key to work remotely. Organizing meetings regularly is a great way to go over the tasks, let everybody aware of what others are doing, and make sure they are all on the same page.

3. Invest in tools to manage

Having a distributed team, it becomes incredibly essential to communicate effectively and have the tools to track work process. Consider video-conferencing softwares like Zoom, Skype, RingCentral and project management tools like Monday, Asana, Trello.

4. End-of-day report

Even though you don’t want to spy on your employees, it is necessary to have something to keep them from slacking off. Have them turn in a EOD report with a list of things they have accomplished during the day would be a good idea.

5. Don’t forget the fun stuff!

Working from home does not mean you have to stop connecting with coworkers. During weekly meeting, you can set aside a couple of minutes for your employees to share personal updates, talk to things unrelated to work or play some games together. This also helps filling the void of working alone.
